Para la decimonovena referencia de Discos Antifaz volvemos a contar con Mr. “La vida es fría” aka Jason Joshua, con un single de 7 pulgadas editado en vinilo negro con nuestros amigos de Karkatoa (Castellón).
En la cara A “Mr.Know it all” y en la cara B “Jealousy”. Dos rompepistas en los que se dan la mano el northern y el latin soul, que nos traen nuevos matices en la música de Jason. Dos canciones en primicia para Discos Antifaz, que son la primera entrega de las nuevas grabaciones que “la voz de oro” tiene preaparadas para ir editando en diferentes sigles, con varios sellos y que formarán parte de esperadísimo nuevo álbum.
Un nuevo Jason, que viene con nueva música y una nueva gira por Estados Unidos. Que viene a confirmar que es uno de los artistas mas brillantes, trabajadores y en forma de la escena lowrider soul underground sureño actual, junto con bandas como The Beholders, Joe Quiñones, Thee Sacred Souls, The Altons, The Sinseeers, etc. Habiendo fundando su propio sello discográfico, Discos Boriquen y colaborado con sellos como Mango Hill.

It is an honor and a special joy for us to announce the release of a new record from our label. For the nineteenth release from Discos Antifaz, we once again feature Mr. “La vida es fría” aka Jason Joshua, with a 7-inch single pressed on black vinyl in collaboration with our friends at Karkatoa (Castellón).
Side A features “Mr. Know It All” and Side B brings us “Jealousy.” Two dancefloor smashers where northern soul and Latin soul shake hands, bringing new nuances to Jason’s music. These two exclusive tracks for Discos Antifaz are the first installment of a series of new recordings “La voz de oro” has prepared, which will be released through various singles and labels, eventually forming part of his highly anticipated new album.
This is a new Jason—bringing new music and a new tour across the United States. He continues to prove he’s one of the brightest, hardest-working, and most on-point artists in today’s southern underground lowrider soul scene, alongside bands like The Beholders, Joe Quiñones, Thee Sacred Souls, The Altons, The Sinseeers, and others. He has also founded his own label, Discos Borinquen, and collaborated with labels like Mango Hill.

Ian Kay’s “Walk That Road Again” debut album out on March 30th!!!
Formerly from the punk and garage scene in Europe, Ian Kay is the new kid in town.
This androgynous jet-setter from France via Barcelona just completed his first solo album, adding a couple of brown sugar spoon to his original formula stirring up the brew just enough to match his rock ’n roll integrity.
A bit more pop? Maybe. So what? You can do whatever you want when you have that kind of pedigree.
Produced and mixed by Jeremy Yeremian, Ian Kay recorded his first solo album “Walk That Road Again” in Los Angeles, California.
Valentine Recording Studios was the playground of choice. A true time capsule where some bands from the late 60’s did their magic (Beach Boys, Boyce & Hart, Kenny Rogers…).
A perfect match for Ian who recorded most of the instruments himself.
Some people say it sounds close to the Kinks, to others, The Hollies, but the connoisseurs will recognize influences from The Byrds or The Easybeats.
Painting themes from his personal love stories, through heartbreaks, rude awakenings and other dysfunctional relationships, Ian’s punkish and sometimes provocative stories will ring into everyone’s ear.

Anteriormente en la escena garage punk europea, Ian Kay es la novedad. Este andrógino jet-setter francés de origen armenio via Barcelona acaba de completar su primer álbum en solitario, agregando un par de cucharas de azúcar moreno a su fórmula original agitando el mejunje lo suficiente como para que iguale a su actitud rockanrolera.
¿Un poco más pop? Tal vez. ¿Y qué? Puedes hacer lo que quieras cuando tienes este currículum.
Producido y mezclado por Jeremy Yeremian, Ian Kay grabó su primer album en solitario “Walk That Road Again” en Los Ángeles, California en los estudios Valentine.
Un verdadero túnel en el tiempo donde algunas bandas de finales de los 60 hicieron su magia (Beach Boys, Boyce & Hart, Kenny Rogers …). Una combinación perfecta para Ian, que grabó la mayoría de los instrumentos él solito.
Algunas personas dicen que suena como los Kinks, otros que como The Hollies, pero los conocedores reconocerán las influencias de los Byrds o los Easybeats.
Contando cosas de sus propias historias de amor, desde sus desamores, duros amaneceres y otras relaciones disfuncionales, las historias punk y a veces provocativas de Ian os sonarán a todos.
